Perspective Camera Update - 0.0.2


Hey, long time no see!

Truth is I've basically abandoned this project, in favor of other more useful projects, as well as school and life catching up to me.

However, I came back to this game, because at it's core it's my passion project, something I made because I could, in my spare time, from scratch, and for that I can't give up on it that easily.

This update brings a very useful and requested feature, I was going to add it from the very start. A mechanic that undermines the whole gimmick and namesake of this game, a perspective (non-orthographic) camera! Gone are the days of guessing the depth of a piece you're dropping; if you want them to be, the old mode is right where I left it, just turn off the perspective mode in Settings -> Game -> Camera -> Perspective.


There are some known issues in this build.

  • It leaks memory, about 50kb every second
  • It crashes if you restart the game scene too much, about 3-4 times
  • When you lose, the master texture for the pieces gets used as the depth map, causing the outline shader to behave weirdly
  • The line shader for pieces in the "lenience zone" does not animate until you lose
  • The queue is still messed up until you drop a piece and hold a piece, I'm going to rewrite the logic for that one entirely in due time
